Do you like to get up early in the morning?

Not really, I’m definitely not a morning person. I’ve tried waking up early, but I always end up feeling super/ˈsuːpə(r)/ drowsy and can’t focus,To put it simply, I much prefer staying up late and getting things done in the evening instead.

What is your morning routine?

I usually kick off my day with a cup of tea to get me going. Then I brush my teeth, wash up, and sometimes shave. After that, I grab breakfast that my mom makes before diving into whatever the day throws at me.

Is breakfast important?

Absolutely, I can’t skip breakfast. It gives me the energy I need to stay focused during my morning classes. Just think about,without a good meal/miːl/, I just can’t think straight or keep up with my studies.

What do you do right after getting up in the morning?

I usually kick off my day with a strong cup of tea to wake me up and get my brain buzzing/ˈbʌzɪŋ/. After breakfast, I like to take a relaxed walk around the neighborhood to help digest/daɪˈdʒest/ and set a positive vibe for the day. These morning habits really help me start the day on the right foot.


Would you recommend your city to others?

Absolutely! I’d definitely recommend London. The public transport here is top-notch/nɒtʃ/, making it super easy to get anywhere. Plus, as a global city, there are tons of opportunities for young people looking to kickstart their careers.

What's the weather like where you live?

Sure thing! Living in London means a lot of grey skies and rain, especially in winter, which can be pretty gloomy/ˈɡluːmi/and make getting around a hassle /ˈhæs(ə)l/. But when summer rolls/rəʊlz/ around, we get some amazing sunny days that totally lift the mood.

Are there people of different ages living in this city?

Definitely! Yeah, London’s packed with people of all ages. Whether you’re a young professional chasing opportunities or someone enjoying their golden years, there’s something for everyone. It’s a lively and welcoming city where everyone can find their niche/niːʃ/.

Are the people friendly in the city?

Absolutely, people in my city are super friendly and always ready to help. There's a great sense of community that makes everyone feel welcome and supported. Plus, folks are always up for a chat, which makes it easy to make new friends.


What languages can you speak?

I mainly speak Chinese, it has various dialects, including Mandarin, Cantonese, Shanghainese and so on. When I moved to Shanghai for my studies, I found the local subway announcements really hard to understand because of the different dialect. It was pretty challenging at first!

What languages would you like to learn in the future?

I'd love to learn Japanese someday. I'm super into anime, but I always need subtitles or watch the dubbed versions. Being fluent would let me enjoy the shows without missing any of the cool details.

How do you learn a foreign languages?

I usually dive into lots of stuff in the language I’m learning, like browsing social media or reading magazines. I also grab any chance to chat with native speakers to practice speaking. Immersing myself this way really helps me pick things up faster.

How are languages taught and learned in your school?

As for English, it was a big deal at my school. We kicked off with the phonetics, did tons of reading and vocab, and had quick quizzes every day. It was pretty tough, but it really helped us get the hang of the language.


What films do you like?

I’m really into sci-fi movies like The Matrix and Transformers. Since I study physics, I love anything that dives into space or aliens. Even if some plots(情节) are not always spot on, they always get me thinking about what’s next.

Did you often watch films when you were a child?

Not really, I didn’t watch a lot of movies when I was a kid. I was swamped /swɒmpt/with homework and extra classes, so there just wasn’t time. I’d have loved to watch more, but school always came first.

Did you ever go to the cinema/ˈsɪnəmə/ alone as a child?

Nah/næ/, I never went to the cinema by myself when I was a kid. I always went with my parents or my brother since it wasn’t really safe and I didn’t have much pocket money. Plus, it was just easier to go together.

Do you often go to the cinema with your friends?

Absolutely! My friends and I love hitting the cinema on weekends. Whenever a cool new movie comes out, especially a sci-fi flick/flɪk/(电影), we make it a point to watch it together and then geek out over the plot afterward.


Do a lot of people like music?

Sure thing! Yeah, a lot of people are really into music. You can always see folks with their headphones on, whether they're on the bus or just hanging /ˈhæŋɪŋ/out. Music just plays a huge role in everyone's daily lives.

Do schools in your country have musical lessons?

Sure! Yeah, schools here definitely have music classes. Kids usually get at least one lesson a week where they sing, learn the basics, and sometimes play instruments. I think adding music to the curriculum really makes learning more enjoyable and well-rounded.

Have you ever learned to play a musical instrument?

Of course! I’ve picked up both guitar and piano before. I found the piano easier to start with, kinda/ˈkaɪndə/ like typing on a keyboard. Playing music has always been a fun and rewarding hobby for me.

What musical instruments do you enjoy listening to the most?

I’m really into the Guzheng, a traditional Chinese zither. Its dreamy/ˈdriːmi/ tones kinda take me to a peaceful place, like wandering through a quiet forest. Whenever I’m stressed, listening to Guzheng music always helps me chill out.
