Answer

Did you have a bike when you were young?

Ah, Actually, I did have a bike when I was young. I mean, it was a bit like, you know, every kid's dream to have one. I used to ride it to school, to my friends' places, and it was really, really fun. It was like my first taste of freedom, if you see what I mean. So, yeah, I had a bike, and I cherished/ˈtʃerɪʃ/ it.

Do you have a bike now?

Well, currently, I don't have a bike. Honestly, living in a big city, I find it more convenient to use public transportation or ride-sharing apps for getting around. But, you know, I do miss the feeling of riding a bike. It's like a more personal and healthier/ˈhelθi/ mode of transportation, so I've been considering getting one again/əˈɡen/. It's possible that I might, you know, get a bike in the near future.

Do you often ride a bike now?

Not exactly/ɪɡˈzæktli/, I don't ride a bike on a regular/ˈreɡjələ(r)/ basis/ˈbeɪsɪs/. However, I do try to, you know, incorporate biking into my routine when I can. For instance, if I'm running errands/ˈerənd/ that are close to home, I might hop/hɒp/ on a shared bike. It's a good way to, sort of, get a bit of exercise and enjoy the outdoors. But, essentially, my biking is more occasional than regular.

Are bikes popular/ˈpɒpjələ(r)/ in China?

Ah, bikes have always been, like, a staple/ˈsteɪp(ə)l/ in China, especially in the past. You know, they were the primary mode of transportation for many people. Nowadays/ˈnaʊədeɪz/, though, it's a bit more complex. There's been a surge/sɜːdʒ/ in the use of electric bikes and scooters/ˈskuːtə(r)/, which are kind of taking over in terms of popularity/ˌpɒpjuˈlærəti/. But, you know, traditional bikes are still very much around. I'd say, in terms of fitness/ˈfɪtnəs/ and environmental concerns, bikes are making a comeback/ˈkʌmbæk/. So, yes, bikes are still quite popular, but the landscape of biking is evolving/ɪˈvɒlvɪŋ/.
